Watermark USA uses filtration made by 3M – a US manufacturer and leader in drinking water filtration. We pay more for our filters because the filtration is the most important part of the process – but we absorb that cost so you do not have to pay more.
Watermark USA prides itself on taking an educated approach to water filtration (vs. a one-size-fits-all approach). We will test your water (at no charge for our In-House 9-pt Water Test or with the sampling fee waived if we use our independent lab partner to test for you) and discuss with you what you want in your water (minerals, flavoring, etc.) or taken out of your water (chlorine, Total Dissolved Solids, bacteria, etc.). Then we will come up with the “appropriate” filtration solution to meet your water and cost requirements.
Simply stated, that is up to you. We will change filters as often as you like but, generally speaking, the most common service plan is 12-month scheduled servicing (the filters we use most often will last well over 12 months). It is really based on your water quality requirements and cost objectives.
I. We are your water filtration providers so if you have any concerns, please call us at 877-7WATER7 (877-792-8377) x107 or email us at email@example.com and we will help you immediately over the phone or email or dispatch at tech to address the problem personally.
II. Some common issues:
1. Water is not hot or cold: The unit may be unplugged or lost power somehow. Try one of these:
a. Check the plug to see if it is firmly seated in the outlet.
b. Check the switches in the back of the unit to make sure they are turned on.
c. Try unplugging the unit for 30 seconds and plugging it back in again.
d. Once you have tried one of these solutions, give the unit 10-15 minutes to heat up or cool down. If it still does not work, call or email us.
2. Water does not taste good: Sometimes when water sits for a period of time, it may seem to taste differently.
a. Run about a gallon of water from the unit into a pitcher. Discard this pitcher of water and see if the water from the unit tastes better.
b. If you are still not pleased, call or email us.
3. The unit is leaking: Water is appearing around the base of the unit.
a. Check the drip tray to see if it is overflowing. The drip tray is not a drain and should not be used as one. Some customers put a sign on the unit explaining this fact to employees.
b. Try to determine where the leak is coming from:
i. Inside the unit?
ii. Outside the unit?
iii. From the water line feeding the unit?
iv. We always install a shutoff near the back of the unit. Turn this the off position (usually the 3:00 or 9:00 position if you look at it like a clock face with the water line coming in and out as the 6:00 and 12:00 position).
v. Call or email Watermark USA right away.
4. The unit smells funny: This could be an electrical issue but is usually related to the drip tray.
a. Is there an electrical smell? Unplug the unit and call or email us.
b. Is it a funky, garbage smell? Most times this is the result of someone pouring coffee or soup or something into the drip tray because they think it is a drain (yes, it happens more often than one would believe). Clean the drip tray thoroughly (in the dishwasher if possible)
c. If the smell persists, call or email us.
5. The unit is beeping: Some units are installed with leak detection equipment. More often than not, there are two reasons for the beeping.
a. The leak detector needs a new battery (on most units, look for the source of the beeping and see if a red light is blinking). The battery can be replaced or call/email Watermark USA.
i. It is important to note that if you remove the battery to stop the beeping, it should be replaced as the unit will not get water if the detector is deactivated.
b. There is actually moisture being detected
i. If there is an actual leak, please refer to “The unit is leaking” above.
ii. Once the leak is resolved, the metal bands under the leak detector should be dried off and the unit reset (push the button on the detector and hold for 3-5 seconds until you hear a long tone).
i. Customization – You can’t get more personal than water. It’s essential to good health so it needs to be clean. But it also needs to taste good – based on what we think is good. We can test your water to tell you what is and what isn’t in your water. Then you can decide what changes if any need to be made. We have access to limitless high-quality filtration solutions and will not lock you into a limiting “Plug-and-Play” system. That is cool.
ii. Cost Savings – Are you using more than four 5-gallon water jugs per month in each of your water existing water coolers? Are you being billed extra for installations or filter changes on your existing bottle-less systems? We understand the cost of good drinking water (was it that long ago that we all thought we were entitled to free, safe drinking water from the tap? You can thank your bottled water provider for re-defining drinking water from a right to a “beverage”). Don’t get us started.
iii. Conservation – Bottled water is the result of a manufacturing process. It comes from a factory that sucks it from the ground (or, in many cases, from public reservoirs - tap water!), boxes it up in thick, plastic jugs, loads it onto trucks and delivers it to your location. Then the empties get picked up and eventually disposed of in landfills. This process is riddled with inefficiencies and fossil fuels. And what about the small bottles – even worse! Bottle-less water is a service. We connect your cooler to the water line, install recyclable filters and service your unit as often as you like. Far, far less impact on the environment.
iv. Convenience – Drink as much water as you need and want. Don’t worry about having a large place to store the jugs or cases of small bottles of water. Don’t fret about being the unlucky soul who drains the bottle on the top of the cooler and has to lug another bottle into place. Don’t deal with the delivery person who takes up elevator space and disrupts the office while he or she offloads his burden. Bottle-less water is limitless and non-disruptive. This is the way it should be.
v. Community – What is the world without safe, drinking water? Uninhabitable. As water is intertwined into the fabric of the global community, so is our commitment to our local neighborhoods and communities. We are striving to support those features of our community (first responders, non-profits, etc.) that make us all safer and better neighbors.
b. To ensure you have an opportunity to taste the quality of our products and service, we are offering a free trial to local homes and businesses. Contact us today to find out how you and your family or employees can start enjoying better water at a fraction of the cost.
